I know I don’t normally talk about my faith on my channel, and if this type of video isn’t for you, no worries! Give it a pass. BUT, if you grew up in a church and have moved into spiritualism, my story might well resonate with you.
Growing up in a Christian household, I knew the deep love of Jesus from a young age. I even thought I wanted to be a missionary as a child, and I’d dress up in “preacher” outfits and go around my house with a Bible. But, people in the church let me down. I learned that love was earned not unconditional for humans…and instead of only looking to Jesus, I looked also towards a church of sinners. Making people in the church my god made me feel like Christianity was judgemental and unkind. And after traveling the world and experiencing other belief systems, I moved farther and farther away from “religion.”
Around that same time, I got deep into new-age practices. It started with books like “Super Attractor” and with yoga and manifestation. I thought that God was in all religions and was simply love…and I inherently slowly started to make myself God. The coaching industry can often really push new-age beliefs of self-worship…and I made my business my idol. I made my business my god. Women around me told me I was special, and that I could tap into a spiritual world and heal myself and others. I was told I could speak to spirits, and that I was powerful.
Then, I partook in a shamanic “healing.” As the shaman in my darkened room gagged and became possessed by a spirit or demon, I realized just how demonic the world I had found was. I realized that I’d become a selfish human. I realized I didn’t believe in the lie of filling up your own cup and self-care and THEN taking care of others…JESUS was all about selfless LOVE.
And as you listen to my testimony, I hope you can hear how Jesus lovingly called me back to Him. How he didn’t shame me when I returned to Him but said “welcome home, my daughter!”
If you’re looking for peace and healing, Jesus is peace and healing. If you’re looking for deep, unconditional love, Jesus is deep, unconditional love. If you’re looking for freedom from your pain, Jesus brings freedom from your pain. God loves us so much that he gave the ultimate sacrifice…his only son, Jesus! Jesus loved the outcasts, the poor, the rejected, the hurt, and the oppressed. Jesus died for our sins, so that we can be born again into a new life with Him. He died on a cross so that we, who don’t deserve God’s love, can have God’s love and everlasting life, and the deep peace of the Holy Spirit! Thank you, Jesus for your unfailing love!
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” (Ephesians 3: 18-19)
